RFDC Host Latin Heritage Celebration

 

Please join the staff, families and friends of the Roberts Family Development Center as in  observance of our Annual Latin Heritage Celebration, May 6, 2004 at 770 Darina Ave. Sacramento, CA  95815.  The festivities begin at 6:30pm.  This event recognizes the achievements of Latin born and Mexican-American individuals and organizations who have made positive contributions to the community.  RFDC Heroes who will be recognized include, the Latino Jr. Golf Association, Amparo Perez-Cook, General. Manager Aztec Media, Juanita Garcia, Community Affairs Director GenCorp, Javier and Maria Alvarez, owners Zapotlanejo Restaurants and State Senator Deborah Ortiz.   

RFDC Heroes are chosen because of their, “contribution to this community and State and their being role models our children and parents can look up to”, notes Derrell Roberts Co-Founder of RFDC. Youth of the Center serve as presenters and entertainers.  Refreshments are provided by the parents of the Center.  The event is free, but donations to the non-profit organization are accepted.

The mission of RFDC is to provide services in the North Sacramento Community that will meet the individual needs of each family member. Providing a holistic approach focusing on early childhood, family education, economic empowerment & technology. Our goal is to nurture personal growth, strengthen families and enhance community development and civic involvement.
