Need hours for community service? Looking for the right
place to volunteer your time? The Roberts Family Development Center is
the perfect place for
you. We’re looking for volunteers who can give their time to the
Roberts Family Development Center. Volunteers help our center grow and
can help us
accomplish our mission.
After School Volunteers
Contact Blia Moua (916) 646-6346
High School Service Volunteers – mentor and tutor student in our After
School Program or Summer Camp for a few hours a week. A little time makes a
big difference. See below for descriptions of “tutor” and “mentor”.
Tutors – Tutors at RFDC assist students with their homework and provide
extra help in reading and math. Tutors help decrease the ratio of students
to staff members. Extra tutors enable our students to have the most one-on-one
time possible.
Mentors – Mentors at RFDC play a crucial role in students’ success.
They give students real examples of young adults making good choices and
succeeding in academics. It is absolutely imperative that students are
exposed to and
have access to positive role models because of the support they provide
and the good example they set. Mentors assist team leaders in the afternoons
Monday-Friday.

Wisdom, knowledge and patience are required. All subjects and all occupations

items before and during the game. You can make a difference in our community
and be at a Kings Game all at the same time!
Fundraising Volunteers – Someone who can help out at fundraising
events, other special events and receptions for funders and other important
people.
Inventory Volunteers – Volunteers needed to help us organize and inventory a closet full of resources at our after school program. This will help us to be more effective in the use of the resources we receive and the resources we purchase. You might even have a few ideas about how to use existing resources for a project of your own. We’re open to creative suggestions.
